The
Bakery is a wild and energetic 11-piece musical extravaganza.
The
music of The Bakery is catchy, soulful, energetic and powerful. It is a menagerie
of musical styles ranging from funk to afrobeat, ska to swing and reggae to
Drum’n’Bass, all solidly glued together by a deep respect for danceable grooves
and sweet melodies. You can’t help but dance along to the music of The Bakery,
and you will inevitably end up with the songs stuck in your head.
The
live show is a feast for the senses. Audiences are treated to a stage full of
performers clad in amazing costumes, ranging from the epic and beautiful to the
down-right ridiculous. The show is full of wild, hilarious onstage antics and
extreme amounts of joy. This is a group who obviously enjoy themselves and
shares that joy with the audience. The Bakery are entertainers through and
through, guaranteed to put on a raucous live show that’ll have you rapturous
for weeks to come. An amazing live band with beautifully infectious,
irresistibly danceable music and an amazing visual spectacle, the best party in
town.
After bursting onto the
Sydney music scene in late 2006, The Bakery have quickly developed an enviable
live reputation, packing out venues around Sydney and delighting festival
crowds across Australia with their “exhilarating, energetic”live
shows.
Their
debut release 'The Bakery and The Beast' was
launched to a sold out show at The Basement in July 2008, with several tracks
from the album currently receiving radio airplay on a variety of stations
including Triple J, FBi, ABC 702 and East Side Radio.
The Bakery takes entertainment
to the next level. Contagious energy, catchy tunes and lots of fun. These
exuberant, energetic performers make for the best party hosts in town – and
seeing them once is just simply not enough. | |

Hot from The Bakery
This live Sydney band really cooks on their debut studio album
When you are crackling hot live, recording in a studio must be a labour of love. It's paid off for this Sydney 11-piece band. They've only been around since 2006, but already know what makes the hearts of fans beat fast. The music is a blast of horns, keys, guitar, bass, drums and percussion, ska, soul, swing, reggae and drum 'n' bass. Energetic ska-fuelled beats drive 'Handsome Young Devil". The two female vocalists provide the perfect mix for the driving soulful grooves of 'Way Back', the opening track. The arrangements are tight, the rhythm section keeps the beat pumping, and there is some extraordinary soloing - everyone pushes to the limit in this debut recording. I'm sure that their live 'neo-orgasmic-soul-funk-jungle-party-core' tag will always be intact. We all have a universal need to groovem and The bakery make great music for loving and dancing, a CD you can listen to again and again.
